Use Genuine Battery Error.

Here's the Story!

My Friend gave me his LG VX8300. His phone went for a ride in his washing machine.

Once he dried it out, the display seemed to work but the phone gave him the message

"Use Genuine Battery "

 and then shut down after 10 seconds.

So I figured a little cleaning might get the phone back up and running. I was close but that didn't do it.

After a few hours of studying the phone, I stumbled on a defective component!

A quick replacement of the part and the phone was fixed!

If you have taken your phone apart and had a look inside you will see that it's pretty much near impossible to change any components! I managed to replace the necessary one.

Ok so now what. I need to test my theory and see if I can fix a second phone.

If you have a lightly damaged phone (meaning it didn't get super wet) let me know if you want me to try and fix it. You pay for shipping of course. I'm only offering to do this for one or two phones just because I'm curious if your phone failed the same way.
