My Sunfish Project! |

Ready for Pick up |
 |
 |

After many hours of work and preparation we are ready to go! I'll describe
the work done to get the Sunfish into Ship-Shape below. |

Replaced rope. Re-rust proofed frame of trailer. |

Replaced safety chains. Replaced trailer ball lock
mechanism. I actually bought the wrong assembly but I was able to gut it and
just use the actual pieces I needed. |

Mounted the spare tire. Note: I still need to repaint
the wheel. |

Bought new Tie-downs. Attached new fenders. Wet sanded
the deck and then waxed it. |

Repaired the leak in the mast step hole! I used
fiberglass resin to recoat the hole.
Made assembly to hold mast and sail. |

Patched up the broken end of this part. |

Replaced cable. Buffed parts. |

Made back PVC assembly to hold mast and sail. |

Back view |

Replaced light with submersible one. |

Replaced wheel. My local trailer supply place had the
entire wheel and tire for $30! Added Bering Buddy . Repacked Bering. Note
rust on fender....I still need to paint fenders. |

Close up of the fender mount I made.
|

Lake View at dusk |

My Boat is in the center. I should have got a better
picture but oh well. Note all the other Sunfish to the left of mine. Many
others were docked all over the lake! |

Me and my friend Pete went sailing. He borrowed a
neighbor's Sunfish and I gave him a 5 minute lesson. |

This is our best picture of the day. My wife took the picture from shore. |
